It is the small things that draw me in, the moment of joy, surprise, tranquility, these little moments are all around us just waiting to be captured. My name is Caleb Hayes, a photographer from St. Louis who loves these little stories. Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by everything around me, especially the miniature things. My endless curiosity that led to many late nights in studios obsessing over every detail has given way to the far less controlled environment of the street. The first time shooting in public was a game changer for me, instead of creating these little moments in a studio I was surrounded by them. The world is all a photograph and my goal is to put a frame on it, whether that is on a trail that I am the only one for miles or on a crowded street there are photos everywhere just waiting to be taken. Simply follow the cycles of nature and people, observe light—the basis of all, and you will find them. There is no instant too small nor interaction too mundane to not convey a story. So I challenge you to try and look for these little moments yourself, I hope you find as much joy and satisfaction from finding them as I do.
