As the city swirls around me the photos do as well, it is learning the pulse and rhythm of a city that is the most important. My name is Caleb Hayes, an American photographer who found himself in Paris with 35 mm film. My driving factor in my art is to answer the question: what makes people human? I attempt to answer this by finding the little moments that make us humans, whether this is in my home town or a county where I barely speak the language, emotion, joy, satisfaction, learning these are universal human feelings. I think that the essence of humanity can be found in the most mundane moments and those are what I try to capture. The big moments are important but it is what happens in between that shows who we really are as people. Same can be said for a city, the massive events are what draws attention to it but it is the quite street and the wholesome moments that give each city its own unique flare. Most importantly it is the people and culture that define what makes each city special. I hope you enjoy these little moments of people just being people as much as I have and get a little taste of what Paris felt like being there.
